Ambition and objectives
In order to fulfil this commitment, the team of the Estonian University of Life Sciences (EMU) is coming up with the project TRIGGER bringing forward the following general objectives:
• To build capacity for the EGD implementation in Estonia and internationally through the research and dissemination of the instruments and tools for achieving the core targets of the EGD agenda in Estonia, as well as their transferability beyond the EU;
• To develop educational offer on the EGD, climate-neutral sectors and the EU Farm-to-Fork strategy for graduate students in environmental and agricultural sciences, as well as life-long and informal learners (through new online open-access contents).
TRIGGER addresses the EU studies by bringing forward to international and Estonian and international students two courses addressing various dimensions of the EGD and emphasising its implementation modalities across the scales. It fosters dialogue between the academic world and society by promoting the course contents through interactive open access e-learning contents, and a science-policy roundtable over involving local and national stakeholders in Estonia. Through its research program and a publication it will generate new knowledge on EGD implementation modalities in national and international contexts, exploring its relevance in a globalized world. In addition to educational work and engagement of policy and business circles, TRIGGER will reach out wider societies through features in national mass media and promotion of its open access contents.
